Preparing For Your Office Move Survey

Great news! Parma Movers, Inc. can help with your commercial moving needs as well asnew office building residential! There are differences in the two types of moves but our highly trained crew can help with it all. These differences even start with the first step, the survey.

When the estimator arrives they will have many questions and items to discuss with you and the more prepared you are the more effective the survey will be. Below are some points to keep in mind.

Disassembly and reassembly

Some items (i.e. wall mounted items) can take longer than others to disassemble and reassemble so it’s important that the estimator see and know of all.

Electronics – computers, phones, etc.

You will need to know who will disconnect and reconnect the electronics and when this will happen, and if the employees will take these themselves or if they will be moved by the movers.

Loading and unloading

The estimator will need to see the loading dock or area at the origin and know what to expect at the destination. They will also need to know about any time or day restrictions that could factor into the moving plans.

Packing

The estimator will need to see everything moving from desks, shelves, cabinets, etc. so they can get a more accurate estimate of boxes for moving and/or packing needs.

And of course, items being taken

This is important for any survey as it’s hard to provide an estimate when you don’t know what’s moving.

All of these points will help the estimator to better prepare your estimate. Now that you have prepared for your survey, met with the estimator, and have chosen a moving company you’ll be ready for the next step, the move. Stay tuned for tips on preparing for the move!
